Synagogue de la Paix

The Synagogue de la Paix is a modern house of worship in the Contades district featuring twelve concrete pillars in the main sanctuary, each representing one of the twelve tribes of Israel. The building contains a large prayer hall, smaller prayer rooms, meeting spaces, and areas dedicated to youth activities.

The building was constructed between 1954 and 1958, replacing an earlier synagogue at Quai Kleber that was destroyed in 1940. This reconstruction represented a turning point in reviving Jewish communal life after wartime devastation.
