Sevran is a commune in Seine-Saint-Denis, roughly 18 kilometers northeast of Paris in the wider metropolitan area. It covers about 7.3 square kilometers and includes several residential neighborhoods, public facilities, and business zones.
The commune was part of Seine-et-Oise until 1968 when it became part of the newly formed Seine-Saint-Denis. During the 20th century, population grew significantly from a few hundred to more than fifty thousand.
