Arnac-Pompadour

Arnac-Pompadour is a commune in the Corrèze department of southwestern France. It consists of several small settlements scattered across a rural landscape with scattered farmhouses and open countryside.

The commune formed from the merger of two places: Arnac and Pompadour, whose name derives from the influential Pompadour family. In the 19th century, the two settlements were administratively combined into one unit.

The place takes its name from a noble family that once ruled here and shaped local society for centuries. The village layout and surviving buildings reflect this historical connection and remind visitors of the family's former importance in the region.
