Le Quartier

Le Quartier is a commune located in the Puy-de-Dôme department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, covering an area of 23.37 square kilometers with a population of 216 inhabitants and a density of 9.2 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The agricultural village has maintained its traditional rural characteristics despite regional modernization, with most of its buildings dating from before 1971 and development centered around local agriculture and administration.

The inhabitants, called Quartiérauds and Quartiéraudes, participate in annual festivals that highlight local products and maintain a rural heritage passed down from generation to generation through community events.

The commune has a town hall led by Mayor Annelyse Duron since 2020, providing administrative services, and residents have access to nearby services in neighboring communes like Youx and Pionsat.

The name 'Le Quartier' supposedly comes from an ancient territorial division dating from feudal times, when the area was divided into autonomous quarters to facilitate agricultural land management.
