Église Sainte-Radegonde de Poitiers, Medieval church in Poitiers, France.

Sainte-Radegonde Church is a Gothic-Romanesque building with rounded arches from earlier construction alongside pointed arches and ribbed vaults from later modifications. The interior follows a Latin cross plan and contains period sculptures, altars, and stained glass windows showing biblical narratives and scenes from the saint's life.

The building began as a funerary chapel in the 6th century and underwent major reconstruction following a fire in 1083. Successive modifications over following centuries gave it the mixed architectural style visible today.

The church served as the spiritual center of an early female monastery founded by a former queen who chose religious life. Today, visitors experience the rare historical example of women holding authority in a monastic community.

The church is located in central Poitiers and can be easily visited to see the interior layout and artistic details. Plan time to walk through slowly and study the windows and sculptures, as the lighting and shadows change throughout the day.

The saint's remains were formally exhumed and exposed for public veneration in 1012, turning the site into a major pilgrimage destination. This act marked a turning point that drew visitors from across the region seeking spiritual connection.
