Buddha Bar, Restaurant and bar in 8th arrondissement, France
Buddha Bar is a restaurant and hotel spanning three levels arranged around a 4-meter Buddha statue, featuring mahogany furnishings and Portuguese tile mosaics throughout. The 1,000-square-meter space combines dining areas, bars, and accommodation in a single venue.
The venue was established in 1996 by Raymond Visan with a concept merging dining, entertainment, and nightlife into one experience. This idea reshaped how Parisian entertainment venues combined different functions.
The kitchen blends Asian cooking traditions with Hawaiian and Californian influences in its own distinct style. DJs perform electronic and world music sets that shape the dining experience throughout the evening.
The venue opens daily from 6 PM and stays open until 2 AM, located conveniently near Madeleine Metro station. It sits in the 8th arrondissement close to Place de la Concorde for easy access.
The mezzanine bar features a dragon design element providing views over the dining area and the central Buddha statue below. This elevated position offers visitors an unexpected perspective on how the entire space comes together.
