Musée Maillol

Musée Maillol is housed in a former private mansion and contains sculptures, drawings, and paintings spread across approximately 4,000 square meters. The spaces display works that show the artistic range of the 20th century.

Dina Vierny, a former model for sculptor Aristide Maillol, founded this private museum in 1995 to preserve his artistic legacy. The building itself dates to the 18th century and was later adapted as an exhibition space for the collection.

The museum displays works by artists such as Pierre Bonnard, Raoul Dufy, and Henri Matisse alongside pieces by Maillol. The collection reflects the artistic movements of the 20th century and shows how these creators influenced one another.

The museum is open daily, with access to exhibition areas across multiple levels. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes, as exploring the different galleries involves stairs.

The collection features sculptures by Maillol that combine raw stone with elegant human forms, many created over extended periods. These works reveal the artist's intensive creative development through different stages of his career.
