Blockhaus d'Éperlecques, Military museum near Saint-Omer, France
The Blockhaus d'Éperlecques is a heavily reinforced concrete structure in northern France that served as both a factory and bunker. The site contains exhibits about German weapons from World War II and displays the technical layout of this production facility.
Construction began in 1943 as a German production facility under Organisation Todt for weapons technology development. After the war, the facility was transformed into a museum to document this period of history.
The site preserves wartime memories through exhibits and displays that explain the German weapons program of that era. Visitors can understand how these technologies were developed and what role they were meant to play in the conflict.
The site is open from April through October and offers audio guides in multiple languages for visitors. Those with reduced mobility can access the facility with appropriate support.
The site houses the only preserved V1 launching position in Europe. This original installation shows the exact configuration in which the weapons were meant to operate.
