King Louis XVIII ordered the construction of this chapel at the burial site of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette following their executions during the French Revolution.
Two marble sculptures within the chapel depict Louis XVI guided by an angel toward heaven and Marie Antoinette supported by Religion.
The chapel opens Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 12:30 and 13:30 to 17:00, with adult admission costing 7 euros.
Archaeologists discovered four wooden ossuaries containing remains of at least 500 people guillotined during the French Revolution beneath the chapel grounds.
