Aiguebelette-le-Lac

Aiguebelette-le-Lac is a village in Savoie positioned along the shores of Lake Aiguebelette, one of France's largest natural lakes. The settlement sits at approximately 528 meters elevation and provides direct access to the water and surrounding mountain landscape.

The area was settled in prehistoric times, as evidenced by pile dwelling remains now recognized as UNESCO World Heritage sites. A medieval castle from the 14th century also shaped the history of this Alpine location.

Hot springs feed the lake and give it a distinctive blue-green color. Motorboats are prohibited on the water to protect the natural environment and preserve the tranquility of the setting.
