The interior features mahogany surfaces, vintage red leather booths, and walls decorated with American university flags throughout the two-floor establishment.
Originally transported piece by piece from Manhattan, the bar opened on November 23, 1911, under American jockey Tod Sloan's ownership before Harry MacElhone acquired it in 1923.
Ernest Hemingway, Coco Chanel, and Jean-Paul Sartre frequented this establishment, while George Gershwin composed 'An American in Paris' on the upstairs piano.
Located at 5 Rue Daunou between Avenue de l'Opéra and Rue de la Paix, the bar operates Monday through Saturday from noon until 2 AM.
