Hôtel Saint-Pol, palace
Hôtel Saint-Pol was a large palace in Paris located in the Marais district, serving as a royal residence from the 14th century until the French Revolution. The complex consisted of multiple buildings, courtyards, and gardens spread across a substantial area, functioning as one of the most important royal castles of the medieval period.
The palace was founded in the 14th century under King Charles V and remained the primary residence of French kings for centuries. After the French Revolution, the complex was gradually demolished and the land subdivided, leaving no trace of the former grand structure.
The site no longer exists and cannot be visited as the buildings were completely demolished. Today, streets and modern buildings occupy the space where the palace once stood.
