Château de Busséol

Château de Busséol is a medieval fortress perched on a volcanic peak in the Auvergne region, rising above the surrounding landscape. The structure features a central keep with thick walls and crenellations characteristic of medieval defensive architecture.

The fortress was founded in 1170 on the remains of a second-century Roman castrum, taking advantage of the volcanic peak's strategic position. The structure endured multiple medieval conflicts, including sieges during armed struggles in the region.
