Musée de la sculpture en plein air, Outdoor sculpture museum in Jardin Tino-Rossi, Paris, France.
The Musée de la sculpture en plein air displays about fifty modern artworks along a 600-meter path on the Seine riverbank. The works stretch between Place Valhubert and Pont de Sully, creating an open-air tour route.
The museum opened in 1980 to showcase works from the second half of the twentieth century, including pieces by Constantin Brâncuși and Jean Arp. The collection grew from a desire to present contemporary art in a new, open setting.
The sculptures come from artists around the world and display varied approaches to modern carving and casting. You notice how creators work with different materials and forms as you walk along the water.
The site is open around the clock with free admission and no ticket booths or entrance barriers. You can visit anytime and explore the works at your own pace, ideally when weather permits comfortable walking.
The collection changes regularly as works are restored or rotated and new artists are added. This makes each visit different and gives you reason to return.
