Château de la Forêt, Historical castle in Montcresson, France.

The castle features a quadrangular layout with two levels, high roofing, and brick dormers across its northern and southern facades.

During the 16th century, the Boileau family rebuilt the castle on ancient ruins, later transferring ownership to the Machault family in 1627.

Marshal Mac-Mahon, the third President of France from 1873 to 1879, resided at the castle until 1893, adding new architectural elements.

The castle grounds contain three remaining defensive towers from the original enclosure, with sections dating to the 12th and 14th centuries.

The northern facade maintains its original stone and brick window frames, while the 19th-century modifications altered the overall window design.
