Castel-Gesta, Gothic Revival villa in Chalets district, Toulouse, France
The Castel-Gesta displays symmetrical exhibition halls with medieval-style architecture at 22 Avenue Honoré-Serres, featuring ornate stained glass windows throughout the building.
Louis-Victor Gesta established this residence in 1862 alongside his stained glass manufacturing facility, which became one of the largest producers in France.
The villa contains the Salle des Illustres, decorated with murals by Bernard Bénézet celebrating notable figures from Toulouse through painted portraits and scenes.
The building underwent a five-year restoration project focusing on preserving its architectural elements, including stone sculptures, wooden carvings, and metal works.
Two previously lost wall paintings depicting the Académie des Jeux Floraux and the Royal Academy of Painting were rediscovered during recent renovation work.
