Sisteron Cathedral, Romanesque cathedral in Sisteron, France.

Notre-Dame-des-Pommiers Cathedral stands with three naves as one of the largest religious structures in Provence, featuring Lombard-influenced Romanesque architecture and barrel vaults.

Construction of the cathedral began around 1160 under Bishop Henri de Suse, who brought Lombard teams to build this religious monument that served as the seat of Sisteron bishops.

The cathedral interior contains notable artistic elements, including three oculi on the western facade, semicircular windows in the apses, and a dome on squinches at the choir entrance.

The cathedral maintains regular opening hours for visitors and hosts concerts during the Nights of the Citadel festival in the summer months.

The name 'des Pommiers' derives from the Latin word 'pomerium', referring to the space between houses and ramparts where the cathedral was constructed.
