Butte de Suin

Butte de Suin is a hilltop in Saône-et-Loire positioned between Charolles and Cluny with a chapel and observation table at its summit. The site sits on a watershed line dividing two major water systems and provides viewing aids and historical stone markers for orientation.

The site held importance during the Gallo-Roman period when a sanctuary stood here, and later a fortress was built during the Middle Ages. Military conflict during the Religious Wars brought destruction, though the location retained its value for the region.
