Château de Chaumont-la-Guiche, Classical château in Saint-Bonnet-de-Joux, France.

Château de Chaumont-la-Guiche is a castle known for its exceptional stable facilities spanning three levels with dimensions of 60 meters by 15 meters. The structures feature ornate stone facades and grand staircases dating from the 17th century.

The castle was built between 1648 and 1652 under the direction of Henriette de La Guiche. It functioned as a residence for her husband Louis Emmanuel de Valois.

The stable design reflects Italian architectural concepts integrated into the interior spaces by its designer. The building showcases how French nobility adapted foreign artistic ideas to their own estates during that era.

Guided tours are available from July through September to explore the property. Overnight accommodation is offered in a cottage on the grounds for those wishing to stay longer.

The stables had the capacity to house 99 horses across multiple levels, ranking among the largest private equestrian facilities from the Ancien Régime period in France. This remarkable scale reflects the exceptional standing of the family who owned it.
