Château de Chanzeaux

Architect René Hodé transformed a bourgeois house into this castle in the early 1800s through an ambitious redesign. His work here was one of many castle projects he completed in the Maine-et-Loire region.

The castle's library holds a plaster statue of King René created by David d'Angers, showing how architecture and sculpture come together here. This blend of arts appears throughout the rooms and passages.
