Château de Saint-Bernard

Château de Saint-Bernard is a medieval fortress in France with a rectangular layout and round towers at each corner. A square gate tower stands at the center, with a tall residential building rising behind it.

The fortress was built in the medieval period and changed hands multiple times, first controlled by the lords of Riottiers. In 1376 it came under attack from residents of Trévoux, showing its strategic importance in the region.

The castle takes its name from the location where it was built and has been shaped by different inhabitants over the centuries who left their own marks on it. Today visitors can see the different architectural layers that came from various owners.

The property is located north of Lyon and can be reached easily from the city, with good parking available on site. It offers multiple spaces that can be used for events and gatherings.

In the 1920s the castle was home to artist André Utter and his wife, painter Suzanne Valadon. This artistic connection links the noble history with the modern art world.
