Château de Lacoste

Château de Lacoste rises on elevated ground in Périgord Noir, commanding views of the Dordogne valley from its strategic hilltop position. The structure spans around 1,500 square meters (16,000 square feet) with fourteen bedrooms, nine bathrooms, five lounges, and two kitchens inside.

Built in the 1700s, this castle follows Loire Valley architectural styles rather than the medieval fortress designs typical of the Périgord region. This design choice distinguished it from the older strongholds surrounding it in the area.

The de Bastard family has called this place home since the late 1800s, maintaining its architectural character over generations. The rooms and gardens reflect how wealthy families in the region lived and shaped their estates.

Access to the grounds involves agricultural tracks, and the steep terrain requires caution during wet weather when paths become slippery. Plan enough time to explore both the main building and the expansive outdoor areas at a leisurely pace.
