Château de Marson

Château de Marson, 19th-century castle in Rou-Marson, France.

Château de Marson is a 19th-century castle in Rou-Marson, Maine-et-Loire, featuring grand facades, an orangery, and several outbuildings arranged around a central courtyard. The structure demonstrates the architectural character typical of its era through its layout and detailing.

Architect Charles Joly-Leterme built this residence between 1850 and 1865 for Count Baillou de la Brosse, following the architectural standards of his period. The construction reflects the design principles and social expectations of that time.

The swimming pool features decorative mosaics created in the 1930s by artist Isidore Odorico, showcasing French artistic techniques of that era. These ornamental details remain visible throughout this section of the property today.

The estate is privately owned and requires advance arrangements through official channels for any visits or special events. It is best to check ahead if you wish to explore the grounds or learn more about scheduling a visit.

The monumental gateway at the entrance to the estate was designed by architect Claudon and features stone carvings by sculptor Voisine. This elaborately crafted entrance portal is a notable detail of the overall composition.
