Château du Bois-Rouaud, Historical castle in Chaumes-en-Retz, France

The Château du Bois-Rouaud stands within a 20-hectare estate featuring English-style gardens, decorative shrubs, perennial flowers, and a water feature.

Alfred Coulomb designed the current structure in 1905, incorporating architectural elements from the Paris Jockey Club into the dining room in 1912.

The gardens showcase French landscape architecture, created by Édouard André in 1903 on the grounds of a former 19th-century agricultural park.

The castle opens its doors for free visits during the first weekend of June, with group tours available by appointment throughout the year.

The drawing room features original dadoes from the Paris Jockey Club, preserving a piece of French architectural history within its walls.
