Romainville Château

Romainville Château in Ecquevilly is a castle that combines Anglo-Norman design with sandstone walls and timber framing throughout its structure. The building contains 85 guest rooms and 16 meeting spaces for various functions and gatherings.

Henry Deutsch de la Meurthe, an industrialist interested in aviation, built the château at the end of the 1800s. The project reflected his wealth and vision during that period of rapid industrial growth.

The name refers to the Romainville family who had deep ties to the property for generations. Visitors can see how the spaces were arranged and used for entertaining and daily life over the years.

The grounds are laid out to allow visitors to enjoy various outdoor activities, including a pond for boating and spaces for racquet sports. The best time to explore is during dry weather so you can comfortably move through all parts of the property.

Inside the castle is a theater called the Henri Deutsch, which still has its original stage and balcony setup. This space shows how wealthy families in the 1800s created their own performance venues within their homes.
