Château de la Guibourgère

Château de la Guibourgère is a castle in Teillé with a symmetrical central section that remains as the sole surviving portion of the original U-shaped layout. The property also includes kennels and a French-style vegetable garden that were added during later modifications.

The castle was built in 1610 and later redesigned by architects Liberge and Moreau. Their work brought expansions to the original structure and introduced French-style grounds around the property.

The castle hosts local gatherings and artistic exhibitions throughout the year. This contemporary use keeps the property connected to the community while showcasing regional heritage in a modern context.

A long tree-lined avenue stretches for about two kilometers to the eastern gate, where visitors can still see traces of the original water-filled moats and three bridges. These water defenses reveal how the estate was designed for protection in its early years.
