The castle rises with its quadrangular layout, featuring four corner towers and a polygonal tower containing a spiral staircase at its center point.
Antoine de Loubes, the king's pantler, constructed the castle in 1507 on the foundation of a feudal building from the 12th and 15th centuries.
The Gothic doorway of the polygonal tower displays intricate stone carvings with fleurons and pinnacles, representing architectural elements of French Renaissance design.
The castle stands 27.8 kilometers from Azay-le-Rideau and 22.3 kilometers from Joué-lès-Tours, with coordinates at 47.512 latitude and 0.463 longitude.
Two wings connecting the chapel tower were demolished in the 19th century, transforming the former courtyard into an elevated terrace between two 16th-century facades.
