Château de Chambonneau, Medieval castle in Gizay, France.

The Château de Chambonneau displays a square layout with round corner towers and additional defensive structures flanking the main entrance gate.

The initial construction began in 1335 under Philippe VI and continued until 1609, maintaining seventy-five percent of the original defensive towers.

Five noble families have owned the property since the eleventh century, including the lords of Gençay who contributed to the estate's development.

Castle visits require advance booking, with admission prices set at 6 euros for adults and 5 euros for children.

The castle maintains its original keep and strategic position near the Miosson river, a tributary of the Clain.
