Fort de Montessuy

Fort de Montessuy is a military fortification with stone walls located in Caluire-et-Cuire, surrounded by a large park with walking paths throughout the grounds. The structure displays the typical design of 19th-century defensive architecture with visible bastions and earth ramparts.

The fort was built between 1831 and 1836 as part of Lyon's defensive strategy following foreign invasions. It formed one section of a broader protective ring designed to shield the city from future attacks.
