Festival Panoramas, Electronic music festival in Morlaix Communauté, France
Festival Panoramas is a multi-day electronic music festival held each year in Morlaix, a small city in northwestern France. It takes place across several venues in the city, including the Cour du Sew and the Cour des Jardins, and offers camping and food services on site.
The festival was founded in 1998 by high school and university students and started out in local bars around Morlaix. In 2010 it shifted its focus to electronic music, which marked the beginning of a period of rapid growth.
The festival pairs electronic music with film screenings, dance shows, and theater performances spread across different spots in the city. Visitors can move freely between these spaces and build their own program across the weekend.
The venues are all close to each other in Morlaix and easy to reach on foot. Checking the program in advance helps to plan the day, since performances take place simultaneously across different locations.
Despite its size today, the festival is still run by a nonprofit association, a structure it has kept since its student beginnings. This means that decisions about programming remain in the hands of a local, volunteer-driven team rather than a commercial promoter.
