The Grand Théâtre de Provence is a contemporary performance hall in the Sextius-Mirabeau district with a main auditorium seating approximately 1370 people and space for around 105 musicians in the orchestra pit. The building includes several rehearsal rooms and spacious outdoor terraces used for various events.
Italian architect Vittorio Gregotti designed this contemporary theater, which opened in 2007 as part of the Sextius-Mirabeau urban development project. The opening marked a turning point in the revitalization of this neighborhood.
The venue shapes the cultural life of Aix-en-Provence through its diverse program that brings together operas, concerts, dance performances, and circus shows. Visitors experience a wide range of artistic offerings presented throughout the year.

The building's curved lines and sand-colored facade mirror the silhouette of nearby Mount Sainte-Victoire. This design harmonizes with the black angular Pavillon Noir building next to it.
