Roseraie de Bagatelle, Rose garden in Bois de Boulogne, Paris, France

The Roseraie de Bagatelle contains 9,500 rose plants representing 1,100 varieties, arranged in formal beds and climbing structures throughout the garden.

The City of Paris acquired the park in 1905, and Jean Claude Nicolas Forestier transformed the productive areas into botanical collection gardens.

Since 1907, the International Rose Competition at Bagatelle attracts gardeners and rose specialists from many countries to present their new varieties.

The garden opens daily at 9:30 AM, with extended hours until 8:00 PM from April to September, and shorter hours until 5:00 PM from October to March.

Peacocks walk freely through the gardens, adding movement and color among the extensive collection of roses, irises, and peonies.
