Hôtel Belmont

Hôtel Belmont is a three-story stone mansion with ornately designed dormer windows and a slate roof that covers the entire structure. The facade displays refined architectural details that reflect the care taken in its original construction.

The mansion was built across the 15th and 16th centuries and initially belonged to the Le Bel family before passing to the Bellyno family in the 17th century. These ownership changes reflect how power and property shifted among local families over generations.

The wooden carved figures adorning the roof overhang tell stories rooted in local Breton tradition and reflect how people in this region have long decorated their important buildings. These decorative elements show the craft skills that craftspeople valued when constructing homes for the wealthy.

The building stands opposite the market halls in central Questembert and now contains shops and residential spaces following renovation work. You can easily view the exterior while walking through the town center.

At the rear of the mansion stands a turret with an unusual four-sided roof design where double-curved slopes meet at a central point. This construction detail shows the specialized building skills applied to this structure.
