Glazart, Concert hall in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, France.
Glazart is a concert hall and nightclub in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, set inside a former bus depot near the Porte de la Villette. The space includes a covered indoor stage and an outdoor area that can host events separately or at the same time.
Glazart opened in 1992 and was one of the first venues in Paris to regularly program drum'n'bass and dubstep nights. The site grew steadily from those early club nights into a more full schedule of concerts and events.
Glazart draws a crowd that mixes regulars from the neighborhood with people coming from across the city for a specific act or night. The programming leans toward electronic music but regularly opens up to rock and experimental sounds.
The venue is close to Porte de la Villette metro station on line 7, and the T3b tram also stops nearby. For evening events, arriving early helps since the indoor and outdoor areas sometimes run at the same time.
Each summer, the outdoor area becomes La Plage, a free open-air space running from June through September with concerts and electronic events. This seasonal version of the venue is open to people who would not normally visit a paid nightclub.
