The building was constructed in 1607 by architect Jean Fontaine for Nicolas d'Angennes de Rambouillet. It later passed to Gaspard II de Fieubet in 1643 when he acquired it as a residence.

The mansion was designed as an elegant private residence showcasing early 17th-century architectural conventions with its arcade galleries and wrought iron railings. Its facade reflects the refined design preferences of wealthy Parisian families during that era.

The building is privately owned and cannot be entered, but its facade and architectural details are clearly visible from Place des Vosges. The best vantage point for viewing is directly from the square, where you can admire the structure from the outside.
