Manor d'Eyrignac Gardens is a botanical garden with seven distinct areas that display French horticultural techniques and topiary work. Each section features different plant arrangements and sculpted forms throughout the property.
The estate dates from the 17th century and received its modern appearance in the 1960s when owner Giles Sermadiras de Cuzols de Lile redesigned it with topiary elements. This transformation made the gardens an example of contemporary horticulture built on historical foundations.
The name Eyrignac comes from the estate, held by the same family for five hundred years and twenty-two generations. Since 1987 the gardens have opened to the public, and each summer the owners hold a weekly white picnic in the evening, an event in its 18th edition in 2026. The Chinese pagoda lacquered red at the end of the hornbeam walk shows the taste for Asian ornaments.
The gardens are normally open to visitors daily, and guided tours are available in multiple languages. Wearing comfortable shoes is helpful since the grounds are hilly and involve considerable walking.
The Chinese pagoda at the end of the hornbeam walk is one of several red-lacquered Asian-inspired structures in the gardens. The 100-metre Allée des Charmes, framed by 20 pairs of hornbeams, forms the garden's main east-west axis, crossing the north-south line of the manor courtyard and the French parterre.
