La Grange au Lac, Concert hall at Evian Resort in Neuvecelle, France
La Grange au Lac is a concert hall positioned between Hotel Royal and Hotel Ermitage, constructed from wood with an aluminum shell designed for acoustics. The structure uses larch, cedar, and pine, providing capacity for 700 attendees at conferences or 1200 for concerts.
The venue was inaugurated in May 1993 by French Culture Minister Jacques Toubon through a partnership between BSN CEO Antoine Riboud and cellist Mstislav Rostropovich. This collaboration brought together French and Russian cultural connections.
The concert hall shapes cultural life by the lake and hosts classical music performances throughout the year. The 120 birch trees surrounding the stage evoke Russian forests and create a distinctive setting for audiences.
The hall is easily accessible with dedicated entrances for people with reduced mobility. Visitors should note that capacity varies depending on the type of event.
The interior combines Murano glass chandeliers with simple wooden seating, creating a striking contrast between refinement and natural simplicity. The 200-square-meter stage floor was thoughtfully designed with this distinctive mix.
