Châteaux de Lugrin

The Maison Forte d'Allaman is a fortified stone structure in Lugrin with thick walls and narrow windows designed for defense. The building sits on elevated terrain positioned between Blonay Castle and the old parish church.

The structure was first documented in 1603 as a defensive fortification in the Haute-Savoie region. By the 19th century it had transitioned to private civilian ownership and residential use.

The manor house represents the architectural traditions of French nobility, demonstrating the construction methods and defensive requirements of medieval Haute-Savoie.

The fortified house sits on a hillside between two other monuments, making it easy to explore along with nearby landmarks in a single visit. The elevated terrain means visitors should be prepared for some slope when walking around the area.

François Folliet d'Abondance occupied this fortified residence during the 19th century, marking a period of civilian ownership after its military origins.
