La Lanterne, Presidential retreat near Palace of Versailles, France

The U-shaped lodge features two floors, 35 French doors, and stands within four hectares of walled grounds containing a pool and tennis court.

Built in 1787 for Philippe Louis Marc Antoine de Noailles, the lodge became national property during the French Revolution and later joined the Crown Estate.

The lodge transitioned from a Prime Minister residence to a Presidential retreat in 2007, marking a shift in French governmental traditions.

Located thirty minutes from the Elysée Palace, the residence maintains strict security measures, including a no-fly zone over the entire property.

The residence earned its name from the exceptional amount of natural light that enters through its numerous French doors throughout the structure.
