Musée de la Visitation de Moulins

Founded in 1991, the museum preserves art and objects from the Visitation order, a religious community established in Annecy in 1610. This monastic movement later spread across multiple countries, leaving its mark worldwide.

The rooms display how religious and secular metalwork evolved through rare pieces spanning from the 16th to the 20th century. You can observe how craftsmanship and design changed across these centuries.

The museum sits in central Moulins and opens Monday through Saturday from 2 PM to 6 PM. Visits are guided, which helps you understand the stories and meaning behind the objects on display.

Temporary exhibitions happen at Hotel Demoret, a 15th-century building that reflects the traditional architecture of Moulins. This historical setting offers a special backdrop for rotating displays.
