Musée des années trente, Art museum in Boulogne-Billancourt, France.

The Musée des Années Trente occupies 3,000 m² in the Espace Landowski in Boulogne-Billancourt. Its rooms hold 800 paintings, 1,500 sculptures and 20,000 drawings, plus furniture, ceramics and posters. In one gallery, two red armchairs with curved metal frames face each other on a low white plinth before a partition hung with a painting of abstract figures in red and green.

Founded in 1939 by Dr Albert Besançon, the museum was first housed in the town hall and gathered collections on Boulogne-Billancourt's cultural and industrial heritage. In 1983 Emmanuel Bréon succeeded Besançon, who died aged 103, and refocused it on the 1930s. Renamed Musée des Années 30 in 1994, it moved to the Espace Landowski in 1998.

The museum's name refers to the 1930s, when low land and studio prices drew artists, architects, painters, sculptors and filmmakers to Boulogne-Billancourt. Its orientalist painting collection began with the 1989–1990 exhibition "Coloniales", built from works lent by the Musée des Arts africains et océaniens, some of which stayed on deposit. Works by residents such as André Malraux and architects Le Corbusier and Robert Mallet-Stevens are shown.

The museum is open every day except Mondays and public holidays, so a Monday visit is not possible. It occupies 3,000 m² in the Espace Landowski at 28 avenue André-Morizet; the nearest Métro stop is Marcel Sembat on line 9. The galleries are spread over several rooms, so allow enough time to walk through them.

The museum's orientalist painting collection began with the 1989–1990 exhibition "Coloniales", assembled from works held in storage by the Musée national des Arts d'Afrique et d'Océanie; some of these were left on deposit and became the collection's first core. It includes painters such as Georges-André Klein, alongside artists from the Ministry of Overseas France and Colonies and fellows of the Villa Abd-el-Tif.
