Palais Rameau, Historic exhibition hall at Boulevard Vauban, Lille, France
Palais Rameau is an exhibition hall in Lille with greenhouse-inspired architecture that blends regional and oriental design elements. Large glass panels and ornate metalwork feature throughout the structure.
The building was constructed in 1878 following Charles Rameau's legacy and initially hosted flower and fruit exhibitions. From 1930 to 1960 it served as an examination center.
The building now functions as an urban agriculture center where research and education blend together. You can observe how the spaces support work on sustainable farming methods.
The building sits on Boulevard Vauban and is reachable by Metro line 1 at the République Beaux-Arts station. Indoor spaces span approximately 3600 square meters.
The site includes an outdoor experimental garden of around 5500 square meters for testing cultivation methods. Researchers continuously develop new approaches for sustainable food production in urban settings.
