Zoologic park de Lille, Municipal zoologic park in Lille, France
Zoologic park de Lille is a 14-hectare natural space that houses a variety of animal species in naturalistic enclosures. Visitors walk through different zones where creatures like antelopes, birds, and reptiles live in settings that resemble their natural habitats.
The site opened in 1950 and was designed from the start to teach visitors and schools about animals and their habitats. Since then, it has grown and expanded, with newer sections now dedicated to animals from Africa and other regions.
The zoo creates a space where visitors come face-to-face with animals from around the world, helping people develop a connection to nature. Local families and school groups visit regularly to experience and learn about different habitats and the creatures living in them.
Visit between March and October when the park is open regularly and animals are most active. Wear comfortable shoes since you will walk quite a bit, and allow several hours to explore all the areas at a leisurely pace.
The park houses a small group of Nile cobes, rare African antelopes that form an important part of the newly redesigned African section. These animals are highly endangered in the wild, and their presence here shows how the zoo participates in protection programs for threatened species.
