Tours ice rink is a sports venue with a regulation-size skating surface and covered spectator seating areas. The facility provides equipment rentals for visitors who come to skate during public sessions held throughout the year.
The rink was inaugurated in 1972 within the Centre municipal des sports de Tours, partly in the Sanitas district. It hosted the French figure skating championships in 1979 and again in December 2010, the French ice dance championships in 1977, and the 1993-1994 French Cup hockey final.
The rink hosts the local ice hockey team Les Remparts de Tours and figure skating clubs that train here regularly. These teams and athletes have deep roots in the community and use the facility as their primary base.
The venue is easily accessible from central Tours and sits within a larger sports complex with adequate parking. Visitors should wear comfortable clothing and bring non-slip footwear or rent equipment on-site.
The rink's ice sheet measures 56 metres by 26 metres, and the stands hold 2,316 seated spectators. It sits inside the Centre municipal des sports de Tours, partly in the Sanitas neighbourhood. In December 2010 it hosted the French figure skating championships, and in 2011 the final round of the French third-division hockey championship.
