The courthouse was constructed between 1840 and 1843 under the guidance of architects Jean-Bernard Toussaint Jacquemin-Belisle and his son Jean-Charles Jacquemin-Belisle.
The building represents the architectural principles of French judicial structures, incorporating Neo-Classical elements that characterized public buildings in 19th century France.
The tribunal operates Monday through Friday from 8:45 to 12:00 and 13:15 to 17:00, with electronic filing available through the official email address tj-tours@justice.fr.
The courthouse contains an inner courtyard behind its main facade and houses multiple judicial institutions, including the Tribunal judiciaire and Tribunal pour enfants.
