Tours railway station, Historic railway station in Tours, France

Tours railway station is a rail hub in western France with six platforms and twelve tracks serving regional and national routes. The limestone building provides connections across France's rail network.

The station was built in 1846 and substantially redesigned between 1896 and 1898 by architect Victor Laloux. This later renovation created the limestone structure seen today.

Four limestone statues representing French cities adorn the station's front, sculpted by Jean Antoine Injalbert and Jean-Baptiste Hugues. These figures give the entrance a dignified appearance that greets travelers as they arrive.

The station sits at Place du General-Leclerc with connections to tram line A and multiple bus routes from the Fil Bleu network. Visitors will find all necessary facilities for train travel.

The interior underwent careful restoration in 2013, with original gold leaf details from Laloux's design reinstated throughout. These fine ornaments show the craftsmanship of the original finish.
