Bridge of Mirabeau

The reinforced concrete bridge spans 175 meters across the Durance River, reaching a height of 14 meters with sturdy neo-Romanesque pillars supporting its structure.

Built upon foundations from an 1845 suspended bridge, the current structure was completed in 1989 after previous versions were destroyed during World War I.

The bridge received official recognition as a monument historique inscrit on July 6, 1988, preserving its architectural elements for future generations.

Located on Route de la Durance à Manosque in Bouches-du-Rhône, the bridge connects the municipalities of Jouques and Mirabeau for vehicular traffic.

The Canteperdrix gorge, where the bridge stands, marks a narrow section of the Durance valley that served as a crossing point since Roman times.
