Tumiac tumulus, Megalithic tumulus in Arzon, France
The Tumiac tumulus forms a conical mound measuring 60 meters in diameter and reaching a height of 15 meters above the landscape.
The Morbihan Polymathic Society conducted initial excavations of this burial site in 1853, revealing a chamber containing numerous artifacts including jade axes.
The burial chamber contains three standing stones with carved engravings and a quartz capstone, demonstrating advanced construction methods of prehistoric societies.
Access to the interior of the tumulus remains restricted due to structural stability concerns, but visitors can observe the monument from designated viewing areas.
This monument belongs to a group of three major tumuli in the region, with archaeological materials now displayed at the Vannes Museum.
