Architect Édouard Arnaud designed the villa in 1912 for Roger Douine and Cyprienne Dubernet, who acquired the land the previous year.
The property received recognition as a monument historique in 1990 and earned the designation of Patrimoine du XXe siècle in 2001.
The villa remains a private residence, and its gardens include multiple staircases leading to a colonnade that faces the Mediterranean Sea.
A pergola with sixteen marble pillars and brick arches creates the appearance of a mosque, complementing the garden designed by Raffaële Maïnella.
