Villa des Brillants

Villa des Brillants is a former residence and sculptor's workshop in Meudon that preserves the artist's living and working spaces. The building contains a dining room, drawing room, and sculpture studio that illustrate both his daily life and creative practice.

The sculptor acquired this Louis XIII-style brick building in December 1895 and made it his main residence until his death in 1917. The house served as both his home and the center of his artistic production during this period.

The house displays original plaster casts and personal objects that reveal how Rodin worked and thought through his art. Visitors can walk through the spaces where he lived alongside his creations.

What sets this place apart is that the artist's burial site lies beneath one of his most famous sculptures on the grounds. This arrangement makes the villa both his final workspace and his place of rest.
